Figs are another member of the dried fruit and nut family that originated in Western Asia and later spread to the Mediterranean. And this tree needs dry land with hot geographical conditions for growth. Figs are usually marketed fresh or in various dried forms. the main production center of this product in Afghanistan is related to the provinces of Kandahar, Balkh, Uruzgan, Faryab, Herat and Helmand. Afghanistan has a share of Producing this product in the world market. Fig trees usually reach a mature level of production approximately four years after planting and continue to grow for 20 to 25 years. India and Arab countries are the main importers of Afghan figs.
